How a hydrogen test rig works

How a hydrogen test rig works Simplified electrolyser balance of plant. Water or feed enters the stack. Separate hydrogen and oxygen streams pass through gas/liquid separators to their respective outlets. Hydrogen continues through drying and purification to test or storage. A PLC with TwinCAT connects to sensors across the system. The arrangement depends on the stack and test requirements. 01 · Water / feed02 · Electrolyser stackH₂O₂03 · Gas/liquidseparators04 · Dryer / purificationH₂05 · Test / storageH₂ outletO₂ outletPLC / TwinCATControl system · sensors How a hydrogen test rig works Simplified electrolyser balance of plant. EXPERIENCE THAT CONNECTS

One engineer.
The whole system.

Hy-7 is a hydrogen and CCUS engineering consultancy based in Surrey / Godalming, UK, led by Dr Marek Malinowski.

We offer remote and on-site engineering support in the UK, Poland, the USA and worldwide.

His work brings together process engineering, electrical design and controls, from electrochemical materials to fuel cell and electrolyser systems.

WHY HYDROGEN

The opportunity starts
with sound engineering.

Explore electrolysis

Investigate PEM, AEM and alkaline systems against a defined operating envelope.

Understand fuel cells

Connect stack behaviour with reactant supply, heat rejection and electrical output.

Measure what matters

Use a clear measurement boundary to assess performance and auxiliary consumption.

Connect the disciplines

Consider process, electrical requirements and controls together as the system develops.

SELECTED EXPERIENCE
